Description
The holder of this Badge has acquired competencies relating to the comprehension of the press through critical and analytical reading of print and electronic media in the French language. The above-mentioned competencies have been acquired by participating in the Bbetween 2017 Languages - French and MEDIA: Press pathway. The course in intended for anyone who possesses linguistic competencies in French languages: level B1-B2. The pathway consists of 4 lessons which last approximately two hours each, and proposes: the acquisition of linguistic competencies in the media; the acquisition of vocabulary and terminologies from the language of journalism; it also involves the carrying out of the following activities: reading and comprehension of written texts in the French language; oral communication in the French language; writing in the French language; and of the following activities: reading and critical analysis of the front pages of national newspapers, economic press, general periodicals, women’s magazines; reading and analysis of editorials (overall editorial policy, linguistic elements for the identification of the political/ideological line of the publisher).
Badge Criteria
The Bbetween Languages 2017-French and MEDIA: Press is an activity Badge. It is issued to students and employees of the University, as well as others, who have attended the projection and taken an active part in 6 hours of lessons out of the 8 programmed for the pathway. The pathway is open to everyone, and a French Language: level B1-B2 is required on starting. The pathway is activated with a minimum enrolment of 15 people and is divided into several classes to allow the participation of everyone who has enrolled.
Skills
The holder of this Badge has demonstrated that he/she possesses and knows how to use the following SKILLS: ability to express his/ herself both written and orally in the French language; ability to communicate and make critical analysis in the French language; ability to understand the texts from the press; and the following SOFT SKILLS: ability to communicating; -creativity in communication; pro-activity; -teamwork. The holder of this Badge has also acquired aspects of KNOWLEDGE relating to: discernment of the editorial line of a publisher; critical reading of the implicit and/or explicit ideological contents of a publisher; ordering information in a hierarchy.
