LORE
L.O.R.E. (League for Open Recognition and Empowerment, title TBD)
The L.O.R.E. project is a community project that aims to create a legal entity in the United States. The central question is how do we foster an inclusive and empowering environment for Open Recognition in the USA.
How is the group working
This group grew out of the ORE (former KBW) community who saw the need for such an entity in the US. Everybody can join the working group. The discussion is held synchronously in the monthly ORE community call and asynchronously in a discussion thread in the ORE community. For documentation we are using an etherpad for the meeting notes as well as this wiki page to collect the output of the working group.
Why are we doing this?
L.O.R.E. is dedicated to promoting Open Recognition, a transformative approach to understanding and appreciating people's talents, skills, and aspirations that extends beyond conventional qualifications. It believes in recognizing the inherent value of individuals, communities, and places by embracing their unique perspectives and self-defined narratives.
L.O.R.E.'s mission is to foster an inclusive and empowering environment where achievements are acknowledged through diverse and unorthodox means, not always apparent or overtly expressed. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, we aim to champion the rights of individuals and groups to define their accomplishments on their own terms and use their distinct descriptions.
When are we doing what?

- Badge Summit, July 2023: At Badge Summit 2023, a number of community members expressed interest and investment in the idea. Krystal Rawls explains the initial white board at Badge Summit 2023.
