Description

The badge "Ambassador for EU Pavilion EXPO 2015" proves capabilities to communicate and interact with the public; knowledge of Expo Milano 2015 and of the previous universal expositions; management and organizational skills. From May to October 2015, 840 volunteers, aged between 18 and 30 years, volunteered in Expo Milano, at the EU Pavilion. Volunteers were able to spend their competences and to acquire new ones thanks to a specific training.

Badge Criteria

To obtain this badge is necessary to have been selected and the experience of having volunteered at the EU Pavilion in EXPO as an Ambassador. The learner in possession of this badge has successfully passed: the online training via e-learning platform; a written test at the end of the theoretical training, performed online via e-learning platform; the induction session held the day before the start of activities at the Pavilion; the implementation of the acquired knowledge, giving effective support to the team and the organization during the event. The learner also proved his/her ability to perform the following activities: welcoming visitors and participants; organizing and managing queues and the flow of visitors during the different phases of the visit; providing support to people with special needs (eg. mothers with children, disabled, elderly etc. ); welcoming and giving support to foreign visitors for making them better understand the differences in languages, cultures and behaviors; helping in the management of the show control console; providing information to visitors about the Pavilion; managing the entrance and exit of visitors to and from the show rooms; participating in briefings with staff; participating in training; providing entertainment for visitors during the visit.

The owner of this badge has also learned successfully the following KNOWLEDGE: History of World Expositions; Expo 2015 "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life"; Organization of the exhibition site; The participation of the European Union at EXPO 2015; The basics of the functioning of the European Institutions; The basics of JRC Research Centers of the European Union and major areas of scientific research; Volunteering and active citizenship; Main safety standards (safety, security, emergency management); Foreign language (English - Intermediate and Italian language - basic level for foreign volunteers).
