Name

Bbetween 2017 CINEMA - Cineforum: Stories of encounters.

Issuer

Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca.

Issued since 18 December 2017.

Description

The holder of this Badge is able to read and analyse the plot of a cinematographic work, acknowledging cinema also as an instrument for recounting human experiences. The above-mentioned knowledge and competencies have been acquired by taking part in the pathway Bbetween 2017 Cinema - Cineforum: Stories of encounters. This pathway, which is organised jointly with the ACS (Association for Culture Sport and leisure time) of the Unversity of Milan-Bicocca, intends to show the ways in which contemporary cinema represents the human experience of encounters; that unexpected one, the one that happens when a person’s life has reached a point of stagnation, when it seems that nothing new can happen any more and especially when, with one’s own personal story adrift, hope for change is fading away. The pathway is a collection of films organised into a cineforum: projection of the films is preceded by a presentation and followed by a debate, led by a cinema critic by the cultural association "Sentieri del Cinema". The films analysed are as follows:  - Wednesday 31 May - Mud (USA 2012, Director: Jeff Nichols, with Matthew Mc Conaughey, Reese Witherspoon) - Wednesday 7 June - Brooklyn (GB, Ireland 2015, Director: John Crowley, with Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen) - Monday 12 June - While We’re Young (USA 2014, Director: Noah Baumbach, with Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts) - Wednesday 21 June - The End of the Tour (USA 2015, Director: James Ponsoldt, with Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg).
