Description

The holder of this Badge has acquired knowledge relating to lyric opera as a musical, but also theatrical, social and collective event. This knowledge has been acquired by taking part in the Bbetween 2017 Music - Listening: Opera (La Scala Theatre) pathway. The pathway is intended for students of the University of Milano-Bicocca and proposes the opportunity for students to approach reflective listening to lyric opera, as well as enabling promotion of the culture of music among students and providing them with the necessary instruments for evaluating operatic theatre in all its fundamental components (singing, orchestral conducting and direction). In the lessons, special importance is placed on vocal, musical and theatrical interpretation and on the productions of the La Scala Theatre. Before each play, the holder of the Badge is guided through the understanding of a single theatrical event, by means of a pathway on the genesis of the opera, its structure, the relevant vocal and musical interpretations, the most important directors and the major performances of La Scala. The pathway includes: attendance at three performances: La gazza ladra (The Thieving Magpie) by Gioachino Rossini, Die Entführung aus dem Serail (The Abduction from the Seraglio) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini; attendance at a presentation lesson held by Prof. Giovanni Chiodi (Department of Jurisprudence), music critic, before each performance.
