Description

The holder of this Badge has acquired knowledge, skills and competencies relating to the world music as a social and collective event, as well as the construction of shared expression. These areas of knowledge, skills and competencies have been acquired through taking part in the Bbetween 2017 Music-World Music Orchestra pathway. The pathway is intended for students and staff of the University (teaching and technical and administration staff) who can sing or play musical instruments (wind, percussion, plectrum, keyboards, bows), with special regard for ethnic instruments, such as the cajon, darbuka, bouzouki, ukulele, mandolin, berimbau. In order to participate, good instrumental and/or vocal knowledge is required. The University of Milano-Bicocca has used this pathway to form an orchestra that wants to promote interaction between elements originating from cultivated music, either popular, folk or of other musical genres. In reality, World Music, which is able to integrate and enhance contamination between cultures, musical genres and performing practices of various extractions and origins, combines the use of traditional instruments and sounds with the use of specific instruments and then proposes independent musical genres which are especially inclusive and engaging. The pathway has a programme of 11 lessons in workshops of 2 hours and 30 minutes each. The lessons are held by Alberto Serrapiglio and Stefania Mormone,  music teachers from the Conservatory of Milan.
