Description
The owner of this Badge has participated in the course Bbetween Cinema 2016-Cinema and Society: Migration and Borders (University of Milano-Bicocca, 24 February - 8 June 2016). The course (see the complete programme) covers the evolution of migration in our country and in Europe, it studies the causes and the impact on individual sand on the society, in the effort of creating a new framework through which to analyse a phenomenon that shakes the foundations of our model of coexistence. The course proposes a new reading of some of the key terms of our society, first among them, that of the border, to provide cultural instruments that are useful in governing the migratory phenomena and to create effective integration policies. Bbetween Cinema 2016-Cinema and Society: Migration and Borders includes: 3 didactic modules comprised of an inaugural lecture, a round table, a conclusive lecture and three journalistic investigations (for an overall 26 hours and 30 minutes); 4 cinema screenings accompanied by a written presentation (for an overall 8 hours).
Badge Criteria
The Bbetween Cinema 2016-Cinema and Society: Migration and Borders Badge is a Badge of participation. It is issued to the Students of the University and others who request it. Necessary condition for the granting of the Badge is registration in the course, participation in at least 70% of the hours dedicated to the didactic modules and conferences and participation in at least 3 of the 4 film screenings planned. The course is open to everyone and does not require any entrance skills. Participation in the course is free of charge. The Bachelor’s Degree courses in Psychological-Social Communication Sciences and in Legal Services and the Master’s Degree course in Law will grant 1 CFU to the students who have obtained the Badge for Bbetween Cinema 2016-Cinema and Society: Migration and Borders.

The owner of this Badge has demonstrated sensitivity and interest in these themes: the evolution of migration; the causes of migration; the management of migration; integration policies; populisms; xenophobia; anthropology of religions; cinema. And has demonstrated to possess and use the following soft skill: capacity to read and interpret the facts of current events related to migration and populisms: migratory phenomena and repercussions on the individuals, communities and on the societal and governmental policies. The owner of this Badge has also acquired the following knowledge: the history of migration in Italy and Europe, current situation and future scenarios; demographic aspects; European policies regarding immigration (asylum and border control); the concept of populism; the forms of political populism and its extension in Europe; psychological dynamics that lead to xenophobia; religion as a space of belonging and not only of belief; interpretation of the migratory phenomena given from the European and Asian filmography.
