Description
The owner of the Badge Bbetween Foreign Languages-German A1 has a proven proficiency in the German Language corresponding to level A1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for languages). On December 18th 2006, the Official Journal of the European Union published the RECOMMENDATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE concerning key competencies for lifelong learning. Key competencies are skills which all individuals should aim to acquire to assist with their personal fulfilment and development, with their professional development and with their capacity to be active citizens. Knowing a second language and being able to use it to communicate is the second key competency, so this Badge demonstrates a competency which is particularly important in the current European context. The online preparatory language exam courses (which are not obligatory) are supplied by Rosetta Stone® via the Bicocca University of Milan. The courses are adapted to the level of the student and are preceded by a quick entry level test which determines the user's course level. Students who have a level either above or corresponding to that of the final language exam are exempt from taking the final exam and instead the level test will be taken as the qualifying test of their knowledge of the language. For more information see the web page Bbetween Foreing Languages.
