Description

The owner of this Badge has attended the Bbetween Writing and Cinema 2016 –Literature in the Cinema course. The course, focusing on literature in the cinema, consists of five lessons held by Dr. Annamaria Poli, lecturer in Cinema and Visual Arts at the “Riccardo Massa Department of Human Sciences for Education, at the University of Milan, Bicocca and by Dr. Silvia De Laude, expert in literature, theatre and film adaptation. The lessons focus on studying film adaptation and some literary works. Reading of excerpts from the works is accompanied by projection of the relevant film sequences, to introduce the participants to understanding of cinematographic language. Each lesson involves analysis of and comment on literary texts related to the topic chosen and other reference texts and analysis of film sequences drawn from or inspired by the selection of literary texts. The lessons, each lasting two hours, were as follows: ALICE IN WONDERLAND (27. 10. 2016), TRIBUTE TO VAN GOGH (10. 11. 2016, guest speaker Dr. Emanuela Mancino from the “Riccardo Massa Department of Human Sciences for Education), ABOUT THE FRENCH REVOLUTION (1. 12. 2016), AMADEUS (5. 12. 2016), UN’ORA SOLA TI VORREI (FOR ONE MORE HOUR WITH YOU -22. 12. 2016).

Badge Criteria

The Bbetween Writing and Cinema 2016-Literature in the Cinema Badge is an activity Badge. It is issued to the students of the University and to anyone else who has enrolled for the course and attended at least four of the five lessons making up the course. The course is open to all and no competencies are required for enrolment.

Skills

The holder of this Badge has demonstrated that he or she possesses and knows how to use the following SKILLS: perception of the various facets of cinematographic work; interdisciplinary capacity (ability to interlace literary script, cinematographic script and works of visual art); ability to read film script in relation to the literary sources it is inspired by; ability to read and analyse literary script in the light of its potential transformation into images; ability to recognise the cinema as a social event, which is based on individual work and on the contribution of many (scriptwriters, screenwriters, etc. )and the following SOFT SKILLS: ability to approach the cinema as a world of representation and construction of sensation; ability to observe film images with an interdisciplinary approach in order to re-elaborate content creatively; depth of knowledge of the history of film genres. The holder of this Badge has also acquired the following KNOWLEDGE: literary, historical and artistic references; methods of analysis of film language.
