Description
The owner of this badge has a tourist accommodation capable of manage in the right way the needs of the cycling tourist, the tourist that has chosen the bicycle to travel towards its holiday destination or that will use the bicycle to move around during its holiday.
Badge Criteria
To obtain this Badge is necessary to: Apply at the Animo Onlus Foundation; Prove to have actually read and understand the “Guidelines for the hospitality ofcycling tourist Receive for free the visit of one member of the Fundation’s staff, or show a certification that testify all the features requested by this regulation; Be available for the review of the same features every year to avoid losing the badge.

The owner of this badge has received the “Guidelines for the hospitality of cycling tourist by the Animo Onlus Foundation, has studied and understood them and applies them in its business. The “Guidelines for the hospitality of cycling tourist represent a short list of rules created to give tourists the best cycling experience ever. It is the result of the experience of cycling enthusiasts, experts and professionals. Also, the accommodation of the owner of the badge has been visited by a member of the staff of Animo Onlus Foundation, or has been subjected to auto-certification by the owner that ensure the presence of: Safe deposit for bikes or the possibility bring the bike in the room; Small workshop for simple maintenance works (vertical hand pump or compressor equipped with pressure gauge and adapter for different valves, set of allen key and keys, screwdriver, duster, lubricant, rags, patches and mastics, soap); Partnership with tourist or cycling tourist guides; Laundry room or agreement with nearby laundry; Contacts of doctors or physiotherapists nearby the accommodation; Attention to catering with flexibility of timetables (within the possibility of the accommodation); Supplies of electronics maps or access to the internet to download them. The accommodations can even supply the following services, that, when available, represents a PLUS and are promoted in every pages: Availability to pick up cyclists in trouble; Possibility to wash the bikes at the accommodation; Spare parts in the workshop available with extra charge (air cushions and covers various sizes, mastic, tip top, cables,s crews and bolts); Bikes or ebikes for free, or agreement with a bike rent located nearby. The managers/owners of the accommodation that received the Badge Certified Bike Hotel recognize the importance and the need for a social change in favor of alternative, more sustainable and natural mobility. Respecting what is in their minds, they give value to the natural environment in which they are invested by promoting the use of alternative means and/or the practice of eco-friendly activities towards guests.
