The MOOC "Cunei-Lab: An introduction to Cuneiform" is an introduction to the study of cuneiform writing. Those attending and completing this course have learnt the following Notions: -what is cuneiform, when, where and for which languages it was used; -how was cuneiform deciphered; how cuneiform came into being and how it developed; -how scribes learnt cuneiform, and what they wrote; -what is the relationship between the writing medium and its content. Abilities: - to recognize, at a basic level, the different values of cuneiform signs and to distinguish between them; -to use, at a basic level, a sign-list; -to understand the specific features of the relationship existing between the writing medium and the process of writing, producing a first basic specimen of inscribed clay tablet.
