Description

This Badge, is exclusive to TIM employees and certifies the acquisition of the competencies covered by the 5 areas of competence of the DigComp Framework:  Information, Communication, Creation of content, Security and Problem Solving. The DigComp - Digital Competencies e-learning Process, designed by TIM, provides better preparation of its employees to face the constant challenges arising from digitalisation of work and society in general.    The training modules of the e-learning Process offered by TIM deal with the topics foreseen by the 5 areas of the DigComp Framework. To be exact, the training modules offered for each area are: Area of Communication: interaction; sharing; collaboration; involving active members of the public online; netiquette. Area of Creation of content: re-elaborating and incorporating multimedial content; preparation of digital documents to be shared. Area of Information: browsing. Problem solving: digital competencies, European standards and professional development; new professional figures. Area of security: informatics security. Digital competencies have been defined, following the guidance of the European Parliament and the Council on 18 December 2006, as the abilities required touse digital technologies, capably and with a critical attitude, for work, freetime and communication. Certificationis based on assessment made using a questionnaire developed in agreement with the DIGCOMP Framework, drawn up by the European Commission to enable dissemination of the competencies that make it possible to exploit the chances offered by technology in the field of digital innovation and which represent one of the eight key competencies for Lifelong Learning.

Badge Criteria

Acquisition of this Badge, dedicated TIM employees, requires passing an assessment of all five of the basic digital competencies mapped out by the DigComp European framework. The Badge can be issued on satisfaction of one of the following two conditions: the candidate undertakes the tests for each of the five areas laid down by the DigComp framework: Information, Communication, Creation of Content, Security and Problem Solving, and, in the event of being awarded a pass, he or she is entitled to receive the Badge directly; in the event of failing any of the tests, in accordance with the parameters laid down, the candidate attends the training courses to eliminate the specific gaps in knowledge in each area. Downstream of the training, the candidate may undertake the specific learning test and, in the event of a positive outcome, he or she is entitled to issue of the Badge. The validity of the tests and the related Badge is certified by Prof. Michele Vecchione. Michele Vecchione is Associate Professor of Psychometrics (Italian scientific-disciplinary sector M-PSI/03) at the Department of Psychology of Developmental and Socialisation Processes of the Unversity of Rome. His main research work concerns psychological assessment and application of multivariate statistical analysis techniques to social psychology and psychology of personality. He is the author of approximately 150 publications, including complete works and contributions to works, scientific articles innational and international journals and tests for measurement of personality.

Skills

The badge certifies the competencies that make it possible to exploit the chances offered by digital technology. These competencies, as mapped out by the DigComp European framework, are subsumed under five headings: Information: knowing how to browse the web, search for, filter, evaluate, store and recover information; Communication: knowing how to use the more advanced functions of digital instruments to communicate and interact with others; share knowledge, content and resources with others; use the basic functions of on-line services enabling members of the public to play an active part in society; use digital technology to cooperate with one’s colleagues in daily working procedures, as well as to look for opportunities leading to personal development and growth; create, modify and manage one or more digital identities; protect one’s own digital reputation, monitor information and personal data, be familiar with and observe the rules of “good conduct of internet services; Creation of content: knowing how to produce, re-elaborate and incorporate digital content in different formats; have basic knowledge of licences, copyright and author rights as applicable to on-line material; knowing how to apply settings and modifications to programmes, applications, software and tools; understanding the basic principles of programming; Security: being capable of protecting one’s own devices and personal data, avoiding health risks linked to use of technology, being aware of the impact of technology on the environment; Problem Solving: using digital instruments to identify and resolve technical problems; make a contribution to creation of knowledge; generate creative and innovative results, keep up to date and understand which digital competencies can be improved and strengthened; help others to develop their digital competencies.
