Description

The holder of this Badge has obtained the ECDL Basics certificate. The ECDL Basics certification testifies to the essential level of IT and web competencies of the holder, updated to the functions introduced by web 2. 0 and constitutes the natural development of the old ECDL Start certification. The ECDL Basics certification can be obtained by passing the 4 modules listed here: Computer Essentials; Word Processing; Online Essentials; Spreadsheets.

Badge Criteria

To obtain the ECDL Basics Badge, the candidate has to demonstrate that he or she has acquired the basic informatics competencies by passing the 4 exam tests (modules) required for the issue of the ECDL Basics informatics certification. The examination consists of 36 theoretical and practical questions, lasting 45 minutes, with a pass mark of at least 75% of the answers being correct.

The holder of this Badge has demonstrated that he or she has acquired the basic IT competencies required by the 4 modules, as listed here: Computer Essentials: essential concepts and competencies related to use of a computer and connected devices, creation of files, management, networks and data security; view card; Word Processing: ability to use a word processing application to fulfil daily tasks involving creating, formatting and completing documents and texts, such as letters and other documents in everyday use; view card; Online Essentials: concepts and essential competencies concerning web browsing, effective searching for information, online communication and handling e-mail; view card; Spreadsheets: concepts and competencies concerning creating, formatting, modifying and using spreadsheets, including development of standard formulas and functions and creating and formatting charts and tables; view card.
