The student developed the following knowledge, abilities and skills: to distinguish among a generalized integral and “classical one (according to Riemann definition) of a bounded function integrated over a closed and bounded interval; to compute generalized integrals of unbounded functions or over unbounded domains according to the definition; to apply the integrability criteria (for unbounded functions or over unbounded domains); to distinguish the different behaviours of the generalized integrals; to compute a sum of some classes of series (for instance geometric series); to correctly apply the necessary condition for the convergence of a numerical series; to distinguish among the different behaviours of series with non-negative terms or series with general terms by the application of suitable criteria; to study the behaviour of series and integrals depending on a parameter.
