Description
The Fab Academy teaches principles and applications of digital fabrication. It recognizes readiness to work in, and to establish, a fab lab. At the Fab Academy, each student will learn how to envision, prototype and document his/her ideas through many hours of hands-on experience with digital fabrication tools provided from Opendot lab. The Fab Academy Diploma consists of a 5 month part-time student commitment, from January to June; everyone attending this course is asked to plan, realize and document a new project every week on a personal portfolio. The Fab Academy is a fast paced, hands-on learning experience which offers a distributed rather than distance educational model: Prof. Neil Gershenfeld's lessons introduce the week subject the students will work on in teams, sharing their progress under the lead of the Opendot's tutor.
