Description
The "Instruments and techniques for active job hunting" Badge certifies acquisition of competencies and instruments that can be applied in active job hunting. The holder of this Badge is aware of how the world of employment operates and of the need to have a strategy to approach it, while using the instruments for contact with businesses in the best and most complete manner. It is issued to students and/or graduates of the University of Trento who have attended classroom courses offered monthly by the Job Guidance Office on topics related to the instruments for job hunting: Going abroad: search for information; opportunities and management of a project to gain experiences outside of Italy. CV and accompanying letter: what they are and how they should be drafted for an effective application; how to send a spontaneous application; how to answer a job advert. Linkedin for job hunting: how to fill in your profile in the best way to communicate your aims correctly and make yourself visible to potential employers; how to exploit the various options in Linkedin to look for information, contact companies and build a strategy of personal branding. Personal Branding: think before you act; how to create a planned project for your short-medium term career, while also creating the basis for your professional future; how to create a strategy of coherent communication and how to monitor and take stock of the actions undertaken to look for a job and develop your career. The job interview: what it is, how it is structured; details and things to be aware of for the best preparation for the interview; how to handle the interview itself and strategies for giving effective answers; how to assess performance after an interview.
Badge Criteria
To obtain this Badge, the course attendee (student and/or graduate of the University of Trento) must have attended and taken an active part in the five classroom seminars, each lasting four hours (for a total of twenty hours of lessons), held by the Job Guidance Office, on the following topics: Goingabroad, CV and accompanying letter, Linkedin for job hunting, Personal Brandingand The job interview. The holder of this Badge must, lastly, have taken and passed a final assessment test, proving his or her knowledge and understanding of the contents passed on in the seminars and the ability to apply this to real situations.
Skills
The holder of this Badge has demonstrated that he or she possesses fundamental competencies for successful job hunting, in other words pro-activeness and enterprise. He or she has acquired the following knowledge and skills. SOFT SKILLS: Competencies developed concerning oneself: the holder of the Badge is able to analyse and enhance their educational and professional history and understands their own competencies, values and goals. He or she is aware of their approach to work and to the challenge of looking for it. He or she is able to plan job hunting, to give it method and deadlines. He or she is able to define a plan for managing their own career and become entrepreneurs of themselves. Competencies developed concerning the context: the holder of the Badge is able to look for information and collect data; knows how to analyse and read critically the context of employment he or she is moving in; is able to face the challenges of the market and accept failure, while knowing how to convert this into useful learning, to improve the strategy; is able to grasp any mismatch between the employment market and the personal profile. Abilities developed concerning the instruments for job hunting: the holder of the Badge is able to grasp his or her own strong points and areas for improvement, in order to set out the application in the best way; is able to use effective writing to create a Linkedin profile and a CV; knows how to read and interpret a job advert; is able to handle the moment of the interview on an emotional and communicative level.
