The MSc in Psicologia clinica, dello sviluppo e Neuropsicologia - Clinical and Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology enables acquisition of advanced knowledge in the contents and methods of clinical psychology, developmental psychology, physiological psychology and neuropsychology. These learning objectives are achieved through a common advanced program covering 5 scientific fields of psychology and through a further learning program providing a deep knowledge in clinical and dynamic psychology, developmental psychology, developmental neuropsychology and neuropsychology of adulthood and aging. The program includes compulsory courses in Multivariate data analysis, Neuropsychology, Developmental Cognitive Psychology, Clinical psychodiagnosis and Clinical psychology in the first year; Lifespan Psychobiology and Healthy and pathological family interactions in the second year. The course aims at developing specific professional skills in order to: operate independently in the psychological, clinical and neuropsychological field over different stages of the lifespan (infancy and preschool age, adolescence, adulthood and old age); comprehend, read and apply the results of scientific research for the planning and development of clinical and research activities; apply tools for assessment and diagnosis in the psychological, clinical and neuropsychological field over different stages of the lifespan (infancy and preschool age, adolescence, adulthood and old age); communicate, according to the professional ethic principles, with psychologically distressed individuals as well as with their families; communicate the results of scientific research within the academic community by means of specialized languages as well as to a wider public by promoting scientific dissemination; plan and carry out individual interventions, focused on prevention, assessment and psychological diagnosis to support and promote well-being as well as cognitive and neuropsychological rehabilitation. The laboratories, internships and time spent abroad are essential features of the program. The normal duration of the course is 2 years.

Badge Criteria

The holder of this Badge has obtained the MSc in Psicologia clinica, dello sviluppo e Neuropsicologia - Clinical and Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology (120 ECTS) at the University of Milano-Bicocca. The Program Structure is available at this link or on the department website: In order to obtain this degree, a student must enrol and complete the corresponding study program at the University of Milano-Bicocca. Once students complete the activities, ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are awarded. The ECTS is a credit system for higher education that allows comparison of study attainments of students across the European Union (in Italy, 1 ECTS credit = 25 work or study hours). ECTS credits are awarded to students when they successfully complete learning activities, usually as follows: 1. regarding the taught courses, students must pass a final exam (written, oral, or both written and oral), achieving a mark equal to or higher than 18/30; 2. regarding internships and practical exercises, students must attend the majority of the course compulsorily (in general 70% of the total time) and must obtain a "pass" grade from the teacher (or from the tutor, or the supervisor); 3. regarding workshops and fieldwork, students must: in certain cases, pass a final exam (written, oral, or both written and oral), achieving a mark equal to or higher than 18/30, or, in other cases, attend the module/course compulsorily (in general 70% of the total time) and obtain a "pass" grade from the teacher (or from the tutor, or the supervisor); 4. prepare and discuss in open debate a dissertation that involves a critical analysis of the relevant literature based on a theoretical or empirical aspect or a research project which can also be conducted in an external laboratory. The final degree grade depends on: 1. the weighted average of all grades obtained for all the learning activities, weighed by their ECTS credits; 2. the quality and preparation of the final dissertation.

Graduates in Psicologia clinica, dello sviluppo e Neuropsicologia - Clinical and Developmental Psychology and Neuropsychology: have theoretical and practical multidisciplinary knowledge, advanced skills in the analysis of mechanisms and processes relating to orthogenetic changes, to the etiopathogenesis and process of disorder and deficit in the cognitive, communicative and emotional domains, and to the neurobiological and functional bases of the normal and abnormal cognitive and emotional processes; have acquired the ability to plan, carry out and assess rehabilitative and supportive interventions in clinical and neuropsychological settings over different stages of the lifespan; are ready to analyse and promote solutions for various situations regarding the prevention, assessment and diagnosis in the clinical and neuropsychological domains; are able to identify the best approach and tools for solving complex research, assessment and intervention problems; can pursue careers as clinical psychologists in public and private institutions for the prevention and treatment of mental illnesses, or as clinical neuropsychologists in public and private in- and outpatient facilities; have professional opportunities in various companies and organizations: public and private health centres and health-care systems and institutions, reaching top positions; have the fundamentals for undertaking PhD programs.
