Description

The holder of the Multicultural Professional Badge has demonstrated that he or she possesses consolidated knowledge of one or more “foreign cultures, in addition to Italian culture, and can speak the respective language effectively in professional contexts.  In a global society, where linguistic mediation and the ability to deal with cultural differences (e. g. as support to negotiations with international counterparts ) have become decisive, a “multi-cultural certificate assumes special relevance. The Multicultural Professional Badge aims to recognise those aspects of knowledge and those competencies which have been shown to be successful in contexts of International business.

Badge Criteria

To obtain this Badge an interview must be attended, to verify the multicultural competencies acquired during the candidate’s study and working career, and a language test must be passed in the languages of the nominated cultures.  The interview is held by qualified staff of B OnBoard, including its own partners and multicultural consultants, who are qualified to test thoroughly the Italian cultural competencies and those of other nominated countries. The language test is carried out exclusively by mother tongue assessors using a tailored conversation on business issues, plus a test of reading and writing skills, where considered necessary.  The minimum linguistic level required to pass the test is equivalent to C1.

Skills

The holder of this Badge has demonstrated that he or she possessed the following aspects of KNOWLEDGE and COMPETENCIES: consolidated knowledge of one or more foreign cultures, in addition to Italian, in other words, the local values, norms, customs and traditions and the differences between the various countries; command of the respective languages, used in professional contexts; knowledge of the basic elements of the industrial context and markets of the various countries and their trends; communicative ability in cross-cultural and business-etiquette terms. This multicultural knowledge is generally combined with possession of SOFT SKILLS, such as: adaptability/flexibility; originality in analysing and resolving problems; open mindedness and empathy; mediation and dealing with differences; ability in networking.
