Issued since 24 May 2017.
Description
This project starts from the collaboration with the Association “Padova fa battere il cuore The purpose is to spread the culture of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) among the population. The aim of the project is to make the population aware how important it is to provide early CPR in the case of cardiac arrest. This matters for two principal reasons: the high number of cardiac arrests, and the simplicity of the manoeuvre, which can be done by anyone, even non-medical personnel. The culture of CPR is not already established among the population. Ordinary people often see this kind of intervention as strictly limited to specialized personnel. In order to change this incorrect assumption, it is important to offer training, starting from young students. The course (about two hours) provides very simple teaching on the “four steps to save a life Recognizing cardiac arrestAlerting the emergency servicesPerforming cardiac massageUse of the semiautomatic defibrillatorWith a mixed theoretical/practical approach, PowerPoint presentation and practice on CPR manikins.
