Description

This Badge is issued to Representatives for information and services (RIF) for the Federal Portal of the University of Turin, who are responsible for managing accreditation of “non-structural staff of the University and of guest users. Since they cover a strategic role, the Digital Identity RIF have to know how the SCU unified credentials system works and know the procedure for accrediting users on the University’s Federal Portal. They also have to encourage proper use of the backup system for problems with authentication within their own organisational unit. This Badge gives validity to the individual competencies of the Digital Identity RIF.

Badge Criteria

This Badge is issued to employees of the University of Turin who have been officially appointed  as Representatives for information and services (RIF) for the Federal Portal for the Digital Identity service and have participated in the training course. The Badge certifies successful completion of the course and passing of the final examination, which consists of an online test and an interview: it demonstrates knowledge of reference documentation and ability to ensure proper fulfilment of the role.

Skills

The holder of this Badge has already acquired the "Representatives for information and services-Federal Portal " Badge and therefore possesses the valid competencies. The holder of this Badge also carries out the following activities: ensuring the updating of the data in the Administration directory of staff belonging to or associated with his or her organisational unit; widening knowledge of the basic information necessary for accessing online services and the federal portal using authentication credentials; providing a simplified accreditation procedure for activation of ‘guest users, to permit temporary access to certain university services (wi-fi, work stations) for participants in congresses, as requested by the organisers or, in other cases, by the person concerned (e. g. library users)requesting creation or modification of organisational mail accounts; encouraging proper use of the backup system for problems with authentication (toll-free numbers, call centres etc. ); dealing with the organisation of the backup procedure for problems with authentication to online services; carrying out periodic monitoring in order to verify over time that the original requisites are still effective for which the digital identities were given recognition (i. e. activation of personal credentials). The holder of this Badge has also successfully acquired the following items of knowledge: operation of the SCU unified credentials system and Procedure for accreditation of users of the University's Federal Portal.
