Description
The owner of this Badge has partecipated in TIM #WCAP2015 acceleration program. TIM #Wcap Accelerator selects 40 startups that have applied to the program through the “Call for ideas The Call for Ideas is aimed at startups in the digital field such as: mobile, smart city, smart home, automotive, gaming, health & wellness, data analytics, green solutions, social impact, digital payments, IT security, social networking and wearables. The startups that are selected will received a 25,000 euro grant to develop their projects and will take part in the acceleration program in one of the four accelerators. In the accelerators the startups will have access to co-working space, Wi-Fi, phone lines, meeting rooms and relax areas. The accelerators are stimulating and productive work spaces where people exchange ideas and experiences, challenging each other and achieving mutual growth. The acceleration period is four months long. The teams will receive mentorship from qualified mentors that will help to nurture their projects from both a technical and a business perspective. The teams will have access to workshops and lessons, and will also have one to one sessions with experts and outside mentors that will help them to grow their projects. During the program the teams will also begin talking with Telecom Italia’s business unit in order to initiate early collaboration that could eventually turn into a contract with the company. Being part of the program allows the startups to immediately become Telecom Italia certified suppliers and enter the procurement list. Telecom Italia units are also incentivized to adopt the startups solutions that are developed in the accelerator because of a program the covers part of the costs of adopting a TIM #Wcap startup solution. So far more than 20 startups have already signed contracts with Telecom Italia. The startups are also eligible to receive an investment from TIM Ventures, the corporate venture capital fund that Telecom Italian created to provide additional funding to high-performing startups participating in the program. At the end of the program the startups can participate in an additional 8-month period where they can continue to work on their projects while benefitting from additional mentorship and co-working space.
Badge Criteria
The owner of this badge is part of a digital startup team, selected by the quality of the idea presented: a disruptive idea, that is disruptive and innovative for the market to which it is addressed. Therefore, he took part in the acceleration program of TIM #WCAP 2015 (Digital Innovation Year), in one of the four accelerators located in Milan, Bologna, Rome, Catania.
